Class/Ages

Discover Dance 3-4
-an introduction to dance & music to help children develop a sense of body awareness, rhythm and coordination.

Pre Dance 5-6
-
a continuation/progression from Discover Dance. Children in PreDance begin to learn correct posture while developing flexibility, musicality and basic ballet positions including tap and modern.

Ballet I 7 & up
-
introduction to structured ballet training for slightly older children with longer attention spans. Child should have the ability to retain short combinations and understand patterns.

Ballet II 9 & Up
-
a continuation of Ballet I. Concentration is on technique, coordination of arms and legs and increased strength and flexibility.

Ballet III 10 & up
-
serious classical training begins at this age as barre and center combinations become more complex. Child begins work on artistic presentation and musical accents.

Ballet IV 12 & up
-
the main focus is on building a greater sense of musicality and artistic presentation. For girls who are ready, pointe technique is introduced at this level.

Ballet V 12 & up
-advanced ballet. Student begins to develop individual style and performance quality while working towards a professional level of dancing.

Ballet VI 14 & up
-advanced pointe work and a high level of technical difficulty are expected at this level. Primary focus is on perfection of technique, concentration, dedication and expressiveness.

Advanced Dance 12 & up
-
for the dancer who wants  a classical ballet class but doesn't wish to take many times a week

*Discover Dance through Ballet 2 will offer “A” classes this year, which are for 2nd year students in that course.

**Unlike the school system, students do not move to the next level after each year. Students move through the system based on skill.

Lyrical 12 & up
Classical moves to contemporary music

Jazz/Tap 7-12 years
Introduction to jazz and tap techniques

Jazz 7 & up
Intermediate and advanced jazz techniques

Tap 7 & up
Intermediate and advanced tap techniques

Hip Hop 7 & up
Video, Street, Club, MTV Inspired Dance

Irish Step 8 & up
Dance with some Irish flair just like in River Dance!

Acting 8-13 years
Dramatic activities including pantomime and improv

Musical Theater 10 & up
Focus on Broadway styles and technique

Pilates 16 & up
Strengthen and shape your center

Ballroom Couples
Both American and Latin dance styles

Adult Classes 16 & up
Ballet, Tap and Jazz offered in beginning and intermediate levels

Special Needs/Autism
Dance therapy for the adults at PARC and youngsters afflicted with Autism and Ausberger’s Syndrome
