CLASS PLACEMENT: Students are placed in Discover Dance, PreDance, and Ballet 1 classes by age. All students enrolling for the first time in one of these classes must be the required age on or before August 29, 2005. No exceptions will be made on initial class placement.

ATTENDANCE: All students are expected to attend class regularly and on time. Attendance is strictly enforced. Any student more than 10 minutes late will not be permitted to dance but will observe instead. If an absence cannot be avoided, the missed lesson may be made up in another class as arranged by the Academy Director. Students are responsible for arranging missed classes. Parents are expected to pick up their children immediately following class. If a child must remain late, please notify the Peoria Ballet office in advance. Students taking the final class of the evening must never be left for any reason.

POINTE SHOES: All students must be evaluated by the Academy Director before starting pointe. Children of the same age group vary enormously in strength and ability; aptitude and facility cannot be standardized. When your child is ready for pointe, the Academy Director will approach you to schedule a shoe fitting.

SHOWCASE COSTUMES: A costume fee of $25.00 per dance will be due on March 1, 2006. The student will then be measured and a costume will be ordered for them. In order to pick up the costume, all accounts must be current.

CLASS CHANGE POLICY: A student may not change class levels without the express consent of the Academy Director. When a student does change classes or levels, they must notify the office, in writing, so that billing can be corrected and no further charges will be incurred.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Full and partial scholarships are available for students whose circumstances warrant assistance. Applications are reviewed on an annual basis.

BEHAVIOR: Please remind your children about having good social manners at all times. Peoria Ballet Academy will not tolerate inappropriate behavior. Inappropriate behavior includes but is not limited to talking, spitting, or chewing gum during class, arguing with an instructor, a sarcastic or sassy attitude, verbal or physical aggression towards a teacher or another student, obscene jokes, lewd comments, or the use of profanity. This applies to parents, family and friends of students as well. Peoria Ballet Academy strives to maintain a positive, respectful and courteous atmosphere and reserves the right to discipline or expel students who continuously misbehave.

SNOW: The Peoria Ballet Academy follows the Peoria City School’s snow policy. If city schools are closed because of snow, all classes are canceled for that day. Please check your local television stations for current information.

MEDICAL FORM: A medical form must be filled out and notarized for each student within the first month of classes in order for the student to continue.

Peoria Ballet Academy reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any class. Students who wish to enroll after the beginning of the session should call Peoria Ballet at 690-7990 to confirm the schedule.
